Men's Swimming Victorious Over Cazenovia In Dual-Meet Finale
The Wells College men's swimming team capped its dual-meet season with a 106-53 win at Cazenovia College on Saturday, Jan. 21. Wells swimmers won seven individual events and cruised to the victory.
Lucas Donnenwirth won the distance freestyle events with a time of 12:35.04 in the 1,000-yard freestyle and a 6:10.22 in the 500-yard freestyle. His time in the 1,000 free was a personal best and ranks ninth on the top-10 list all-time in the event in Wells history.
Austin Heil took the sprint freestyle events with a winning time of 24.85 seconds in the 50-yard freestyle and 55.05 seconds in the 100-yard freestyle.
Ian Ronan won the 100-yard breaststroke in 1:08.67, which was a half-second off of his personal best time earlier this season, which holds fourth place on the program's top-10 chart.
Arthur Brooks was first in the 100-yard butterfly with a time of 1:09.99 and Shawn Snell was fist in the 200-yard freestyle.
With its dual-meet season complete, Wells begins preparation for the upcoming North Eastern Athletic Conference Championships on Feb. 10-12 at SUNY Cobleskill.
