Men's Swimming Wins Over Roberts Wesleyan

The Wells College men's swimming team earned its first win of the year in a tri-meet hosted by Utica College on Saturday, Nov. 4. Wells defeated Roberts Wesleyan 130-57 and fell to host Utica by a score of 162-61.

The 200-yard medley relay team of Caleb Evans, Ian Ronan, Arthur Brooks, and Owen May swam 2:00.73.

Brandon Sprague swam unopposed in the 1,000-yard freestyle and won with a time of 12:48.84. He took third in the 500 free in 6:17.47.

Evans was second in the 100-yard backstroke in 1:10.52 and second in the 200 back in 2:32.16, a two-tenths improvement over his top-10 time from last week's meet against Oswego.

Ronan was second in the 100-yard breaststroke in 1:12.74 and second in the 200 breast in 2:43.12.

Owen May took third in the 50 free in 27.09 seconds.

Arthur Brooks was third in the 200-yard individual medley in 2:32.39.

The Express closed the meet with a second-place finish in the 200-yard freestyle relay as Aaron Connolly, Evans, Sprague, and May clocked 1:53.15.

Wells returns to action Saturday, Nov. 11 with a neutral-site meet against Gallaudet University at Cedar Crest College.
