Men's Swimming Drops NEAC Dual Meet To Gallaudet

The Wells College men's swimming team lost a dual-meet against Gallaudet University by a 138-99 score on Saturday, Nov. 11. The meet was hosted by Cedar Crest College in Allentown, Pa.

Wells started the meet with a second-place finish in the 200-yard medley relay with a time of 2:01.22 by the quartet of Caleb Evans, Ian Ronan, Arthur Brooks, and Brandon Sprague.

Evans took second in the 1,000-yard freestyle in 12:58.38 and then placed first in the 50 free with a time of 28.88 seconds. He was second in the 100-yard backstroke in 1:10.14

Sprague was second in the 200 free in 2:20.96, second in the 50 free in 29.28 seconds, and second in the 500 free in 6:08.04.

Aaron Connolly was third in the 200 free in 2:25.40 and third in the 100-yard breaststroke in 1:18.23.

Ronan won the 50-yard backstroke in 33.51 seconds and was second in the 100-yard breaststroke in 1:10.68.

Brooks was second in the 50-yard breaststroke in 35.29 seconds and third in the 500 free in 6:11.74.

Ronan, Brooks, and Connolly were second, third, and fourth in the 100-yard individual medley. Ronan finished in 1:08.00, Brooks touched in 1:10.46 and Connolly finished in 1:12.69. In his debut in the event, Connolly moved into fifth on Wells record board in the 100 IM.

Wells swimmers took second and third in the 100-yard butterfly as Shawn Snell swam 1:19.58 and Richard Ford finished in 1:21.27. That duo also swam in the 100 free with Ford taking second place and Snell finishing fourth. In the 50-yard butterfly, Snell was second (32.81 seconds) and Ford was third (34.58).

The Express is back in action Saturday, Dec. 2 at SUNY Cobleskill.
