Men's Swimming Takes Narrow Loss At Cobleskill

The Wells College men's swimming team lost a dual meet at SUNY Cobleskill by a 124-108 score on Saturday, Dec. 2.

Brandon Sprague won the 1,000-yard freestyle with a time of 12:47.53, edging the second-place swimmer from Cobleskill by 1.26 seconds.

Caleb Evans picked up another close win for Wells in the 100-yard backstroke. Evans touched in 1:10.09, which was 63-hundredths of a second ahead of the Cobleskill swimmer. Evans swam unopposed in the 200-yard backstroke and won in 2:39.78.

Ian Ronan won the 200-yard breaststoke in 2:43.19 ahead of teammate Aaron Connolly in 2:46.76. Ronan was also first in the 200-yard individual medley in 2:35.82 with Shawn Snell taking second and Richard Ford finishing third.

Wells is back in action on Jan. 13 with a tri-meet hosted by Pitt-Bradford that also includes Buffalo State.
