Wells Swimmers Complete Annual Hour Of Power

The Wells College women's and men's swimming teams participated in the Ted Mullin Hour of Power Relays on Tuesday, Nov. 13 at the Schwartz Athletic Center aquatics facility. The Hour of Power is an annual nationwide awareness and fundraising event to support those affected by cancer.

Wells participated in the event for the 12th year in a row. Over the Hour of Power, Wells swimmers raced and swam laps for 60 minutes continuously.

This nationwide event started 13 years ago when Carleton University swimmer Ted Mullin died of sarcoma, a rare soft-tissue cancer. His Carleton teammates wanted to do something to commemorate Mullin's life and created the Hour of Power Relays event. Complete event history and additional information is available at the event's website.

Those who wish to support the fund may visit the merchandise page to buy t-shirts or other swimming merchandise, or visit the Ted Mullin Fund website to make a donation.

For further information about the event here on the Wells campus, contact swimming head coach Trish George at pgeorge@wells.edu or X3413.
