The Wells College men's swimming team went up against Cazenovia College at William Smith College and came away with a victory over the Wildcats on Saturday, Feb. 1.

The Express finished with 49 points on the afternoon with the best performances coming from Vincent Chen and Aaron Connolly.

Chen took first place in three events, while Connolly captured the 100 breaststroke with a winning time of 1:19.22.

Chen captured the 100 backstroke (1:01.34), the 200 backstroke (2:21.42) and the 100 IM (1:03.30) as the day's only multiple men's swimming winner and in the process improved upon two of his current nine top-10 all-time Wells College times.

In the 100 backstroke, Chen's time moved him on the all-time list from the third spot to the second spot. In the 200 backstroke, Chen's time was not good enough to advance him from the fourth-best time to the third spot on the top-10 list, but he did improve his time in that event with a new personal best while maintaining the fourth-best time.

The men's team next travels to SUNY Cobleskill for the North Eastern Athletic Conference Championships held between Feb. 14 and Feb. 16.
