Men’s Swimming Team Widens Third-Place Lead at NEAC Championships

The Wells College men's swimming team got a pair of wins at today's North Eastern Athletic Conference Swimming and Diving Championships in the second day of competition at SUNY Cobleskill on Saturday, Feb. 15.

Aaron Connolly won the 100-yard breaststroke with a time of 1:14.52, while Vincent Chen captured first place in the 100-yard backstroke with a 1:01.36 time. For Chen, it marked Wells College's second-best all-time time in that event. The freshman had ranked third all-time as one of his nine top-10 times and bested his previous top-10 breaststroke time by .66 seconds.

The pair of wins allowed the Express to pull away from fourth-place Cazenovia College by 20 points after finishing just a point ahead of the Wildcats after the first day of competition.

The third and final day of the swimming championships will be tomorrow, Sunday, Feb. 16 with preliminaries beginning at 10 a.m. and finals at 4:45 p.m.
