MEN'S VOLLEYBALL DROPS INAUGURAL MATCH TO SUNY IT

UTICA, N.Y. - The Wells College men's volleyball team fell in three straight sets to the SUNY IT Wildcats in their inaugural match as an NCAA Division III member. The Wildcats prevailed 25-13, 25-14, and 25-12 to top the Express in their historical first competition.

Caleb Mannix finished with six kills and eight digs while Ryan Huggins chipped in with three kills and 2.5 blocks to pace the Express.

"I have to congratulate the guys for their first match as a team, said head coach Richard Gary. It may not have been the start we wanted, but tonight we learned that it's one thing to practice well, and another to play your best when it counts -- that's the next step in this season's process."

The Express return to the court on Sunday, Feb. 12 against Siena Heights and Thiel College at 12 and 2 p.m. on the campus of Thiel College in Granville, Pa.
