NEAC To Sponsor Men's Volleyball In 2013

GANSEVOORT, N.Y. - After a five-year hiatus, the North Eastern Athletic Conference has announced that it will once against sponsor the sport of men's volleyball, with the return season commencing this January. Including Wells College, the conference features six member schools that will compete in the opening season, including Cazenovia College, Gallaudet University, Keuka College, Lancaster Bible College, and the SUNY Institute of Technology.

Men's volleyball has grown immensely across all NCAA Division III institutions, with nearly 70 schools now sponsoring the sport. The NEAC originally sponsored men's volleyball for three years starting in 2004-05, but membership turnover forced a lengthy hiatus following the 2006-07 season.

The Express will open up conference play on Saturday, Feb. 2 as they face-off against the Wildcats of Cazenovia College in a 12:00 p.m. tilt. In the program's first season last year, the Express posted a 2-19 overall record across a conference schedule that featured other NEAC schools. The men's volleyball program was the school's 15th varsity program to be added to its cadre of sports.
