Men's Volleyball To Re-Attempt "Bump World Record"

AURORA, N.Y. – With the assistance of "Express Nation", the Wells College men's volleyball team will attempt to re-set the "Bump World Record" at the end of the second set against D'Youville College on 7:00 p.m. during the Wells College Invitational, Head Coach Richard Gary announced Thursday afternoon.

After the end of the second set against D'Youville in the 7:00 p.m. contest on Friday, fans and players will be invited onto the court to "bump" a volleyball into the air as many times as possible for one minute – the world record attempt will be videotaped and submitted to RecordSetter.com for inclusion as an official world record.

Last year, the Express saw over 100 people take to the court to help set the world record. With no group officially holding the record for most "bumps" at one time and one location, the Express set the world record with 3,058 total bumps taking place within the volleyball court.

Donations and pledges of any amount will be accepted by Coach Gary (rgary@wells.edu) or by individual members of both the men's and women's volleyball programs. "Per bump" pledges are encouraged to help encourage the most bumps during the event.
