Bayly Wins Fourth Straight NEAC Defensive Player of the Week Award

GANSEVOORT, N.Y. – Senior libero C.J. Bayly (Waymart, Pa.) won the North Eastern Athletic Conference Men's Volleyball Defensive Player of the Week award for the fourth straight week, the league office announced Monday afternoon. Bayly and the Wells College men's volleyball team are out to their best record in program history, boasting a 14-6 overall mark while riding a nine game winning streak.

Across eight sets, Bayly racked up 30 digs and averaged 3.75 digs per set in a pair of wins for Wells. In a 3-0 sweep over the Wildcats of Cazenovia College, Bayly recorded 11 digs along with four assists in the win in straight sets. Against Penn St.-Altoona in a thrilling 3-2 victory for Wells, Bayly broke his own program record for digs in a match with 19.

Bayly continues to lead the NEAC in both digs (209) and digs per set (2.94) while helping secure 10 straight-set victories on the year for the Express, who are now 14-6 overall and 4-1 within the NEAC. He has won five league Defensive Player of the Week awards in 2014 and boasts 13 total awards (men's volleyball and men's soccer) since joining the Express as a freshman in 2010.

Wells returns to action on Friday, Mar. 21 as they face-off against Rhode Island Community College, NYU-Poly and Hilbert on the campus of Keuka College starting at 6:00 p.m.
