RELEASE: NEAC MEN'S VOLLEYBALL ALL-CONFERENCE ANNOUNCEMENT (PDF)

GANSEVOORT, N.Y. – Senior John Farruggia (New Hartford, N.Y.) and sophomore Brannon Perdicho (Victor, N.Y.) of the Wells College men's volleyball team have earned North Eastern Athletic Conference Second Team All-Conference honors for their efforts this past season, the league office announced Wednesday.

Farruggia and Perdicho were two of 21 total All-Conference selections announced by the conference office. The duo helped Wells set single-season program records in total kills (1,222), kills per set (11.01), attacking percentage (.198), assists (1,157), assists per set (10.42), serve percentage (.871), reception percentage (T-1st, .939) and sets played (111) in 2016.

Serving as his team's lone captain in 2016, Farruggia concluded a four-year career with the Express by earning his second career All-Conference award. One of only two players in the conference to tally more than 200 digs and kills, he hammered home 228 kills for Wells while adding 204 digs defensively (sixth in the conference), averaging 2.09 kills per set and 1.87 digs per set.

Against conference opponents, Farruggia posted 147 kills and only 50 attacking errors for a .253 attacking percentage while averaging 2.15 digs per set against NEAC teams. Against the conference's top teams, Farruggia boasts double-doubles against Medaille (17 kills, 13 digs) and Hilbert (11 kills, 18 digs). He also provided 27 total blocks for the Express on the season.

Farruggia, a First Team All-NEAC selection in 2014, finished with the career program records in kills (797), attack attempts (2,373), service aces (120), digs (677), sets played (367) and matches played (T-1st, 109). His lengthy career has also yielded four NEAC Men's Volleyball Player of the Week awards.

Perdicho earned Second Team All-Conference honors for the second-straight season after leading his team in double-doubles in 2016 with six. Overall, Perdicho finished a stellar sophomore campaign ranked second overall in the NEAC with 3.58 kills per set, posting three kills shy of 300 on the year.

Posting 159 digs defensively (1.92/set - ninth in the NEAC), his 3.56 kills per set against league opponents ranks third in the conference - he also set single-season program records for kills (297), kills per set (3.58), points (327) and points per set (3.94). Offensively, he recorded double-digit kill totals in all but seven of his matches on the year - he also set a new program record with 27 kills against Regis (Mass.) on Jan. 30 in his team's thrilling 3-2 victory.

Entering his junior year in 2017, Perdicho is the program's all-time leader in kills per set (3.30) and points per set (3.69) while ranking third in kills (534), fourth in attacking percentage (.202), sixth in digs per set (1.80) and seventh overall with 292 digs defensively. He is a two-time winner of NEAC Men's Volleyball Player of the Week honors and was a co-Rookie of the Year in 2015.
