First Win Of Season For Wells Men's Volleyball

The Wells College men's volleyball team picked up its first win of the season to cap the weekend's action at the SUNY Polytechnic Institute Invitational on Saturday, Jan. 21 at SUNY Poly. Wells dropped the opening match of the day against Vassar, but came back to score a 3-0 win over Cairn in Saturday's second match.

Over the eight-team, two-day tournament, Caden O'Loughlin ranked seventh in kills per game with 3.07 and Scott Litvin was fifth in assists per game at 7.07. Mike Hartman was seventh with 2.50 digs per game and Brannon Perdicho was ninth with 2.36 digs per game.

The Express will play matches against Thiel College and Juniata College at Juniata's Huntingdon, Pa. campus on Saturday, Jan. 28.

Vassar 3, Wells 1

Wells won the opening set by a 27-25 score, but Vassar swept the next three 25-20, 25-19, 25-21.

Scott Litvin and Mike Hartman had 13 digs each. Brannon Perdicho led Wells with 14 kills. Jonathan Haines had two solo blocks and one block assist. Litvin had 27 assists. The Express hit .128 for the match.

Wells 3, Cairn 0

The first victory of the year for Wells went in the favor of the Express by set scores of 25-19, 25-16, 25-15. Wells hit .202 for the match.

Caden O'Loughlin had 11 kills and Brannon Perdicho had 10. Scott Litvin had 27 assists for the second-straight match. Josh Undari and O'Loughlin served up two aces each. Perdicho had 13 digs to lead Wells in that category. Jonathan Haines had one solo block and one block assist.
