Five-Set Victory For Wells Men's Volleyball At Medaille

The Wells College men's volleyball team won in five sets at Medaille College on Saturday, March 17. Set scores were 22-25, 25-11, 25-22, 23-25, 15-10. The victory improved Wells to 2-0 in North Eastern Athletic Conference games and 14-6 overall. It is the best 20-game record in program history.

After dropping the first set, Wells stormed back to win 25-11 in the second set with a .348 hitting percentage. The Express took the third set 25-22. In the third, a 6-2 run helped the Express stretch its lead to 18-11. Medaille took the fourth set 25-23. Wells dominated the early part of the deciding set and raced out to a 9-2 lead before going on to win 15-10. Robert Patzer had three service aces in the fifth set.

For the match, Wells hit .259 with 50 kills and 20 errors. Caden O'Loughlin had 18 kills and hit .444 on the afternoon. Brannon Perdicho had 12 kills. Josh Undari had 45 assists.

Wells served nine aces, with five by Patzer, two from Jonathan Haines, and one each from O'Loughlin and Perdicho.

Scott Litvin had 15 digs to lead the defensive effort. Patzer, Undari, and Perdicho added seven digs each. Ryan Turner had two solo blocks and four block assists. Haines had two solo blocks and three block assists.

Wells continues conference play Sunday, March 18 at Keuka College.
