Weekly Honors For Perdicho, O'Loughlin

The Wells College men's volleyball team had two players honored by the North Eastern Athletic Conference as student-athletes of the week for the week ending April 8. Brannon Perdicho was the Player of the Week and Caden O'Loughlin was the Defensive Player of the Week.

Also Tuesday, Wells found out its opponent for the semifinal round of the NEAC playoffs. Wells will face SUNY Poly in a semifinal match Saturday, April 14 at 2:30 p.m. at Lancaster Bible College. In the first semifinal, Lancaster Bible takes on Penn State Altoona at noon. The semifinal winners will meet in Sunday's championship match at 1 p.m.

Brannon Perdicho earned Player of the Week recognition for the third time this season. The senior outside hitter from Victor, N.Y. averaged 4.2 kills per set with 42 kills and a .429 hitting percentage in a 3-0 week for the Express. In a crucial 3-1 win over Penn State Altoona, Perdicho recorded 24 kills, 10 digs and one block assist. He also totaled 27 digs, two assists and one service ace on the week to help Wells set a new program record with 20 wins.

Caden O'Loughlin was the Defensive Player of the Week after totaling 28 digs and an average of 2.80 digs per set in three wins last week. O'Loughlin, a sophomore outside hitter from Louisville, Kent., also added one solo block, four block assists, eight service aces, four assists and 23 kills in his well-rounded week. With the regular season wrapped up, O'Loughlin ranks third is digs (203) and fourth in kills (296) among all NEAC players.
