Two Wins For Men's Volleyball At Poly Invite

The Wells College men's volleyball team won a pair of matches Friday, Jan. 25 at the SUNY Poly Invitational. Wells defeated D'Youville College in four sets and then won in three sets over Thiel College. Wells is 3-1 on the season and plays twice more Saturday at SUNY Poly with matches against Geneva and Nazareth.

Set scores were 25-13, 21-25, 25-19, 25-10. Wells took the opening set and hit .545 in the set with 14 kills and two errors on 22 swings. The Express hit .287 in the match, including a .476 percentage in the fourth set.

Caden O'Loughlin hit .400 in the match with a team-best 17 kills against just three errors on 35 attempts. O'Loughlin also led Wells with 17 digs and two solo blocks. Robert Patzer had eight kills and Josh Undari had 34 assists with four service aces. Liam Kaylor added 10 digs. Ryan Turner had one solo block and three block assists.

Wells won by scores of 25-22, 25-15, 25-17. Robert Patzer led the way for the Express with 12 kills, two service aces and 10 digs in the match. Caden O'Loughlin had nine kills with a .333 hitting percentage. Josh Undari dished out 28 assists as Wells hit .346 in the match with 39 kills and 11 errors. Undari served three aces and had one solo block and one block assist.
