Perfect Weekend Complete For Wells Men's Volleyball

The Wells College men's volleyball team completed a perfect four-match run on its home-opening weekend for the 2019 season. Wells won both of its Saturday matches, a three-set win over Purchase and a four-set win over Daemen, on Saturday, March 2 at the Schwartz Athletic Center.

In the opening set of the first match of the day, junior setter Josh Undari became the program's all-time leader in assists. He passed Scott Litvin '18, who totaled 2,031 assists in his career. Undari needed nine assists entering the day to break the record. He totaled 49 assists over the two matches on Saturday.

Wells is 15-6 on the year with six wins in a row and victories in eight of its last nine matches. Wells will be off this week and away for most of the College's upcoming spring break. The Express will host tri-matches on Saturday, March 16 and Sunday, March 17 at the Schwartz Athletic Center.

WELLS 3, PURCHASE 0

Wells cruised by set scores of 25-15, 25-15, 25-13. Undari's career achievement came midway through the first set. He finished with 10 assists and four kills with three digs. Caden O'Loughlin had 12 kills and seven assists for Wells with five digs.

Robert Patzer had six kills and six digs. Cooper Colesante and Ryan Turner each had a solo block.

WELLS 3, DAEMEN 1

For the second time in a week, Wells earned a victory against Division II program Daemen College, in its first year of varsity competition. Wells won by set scores of 25-14, 21-25, 25-21, 25-21.

Josh Undari had 39 assists on 48 Wells kills. Wells hit .246 in the match but served effectively with eight aces, including four from Caden O'Loughlin. Wells also totaled seven blocks as a team, led by one solo block and four block assists from Robert Patzer.

Patzer led Wells with 17 kills and O'Loughlin had 10. O'Loughlin led Wells with 13 digs.
