Nationally-Ranked Chargers Beat Men's Volleyball

The Wells College men's volleyball team lost in three sets at 10th-ranked Lancaster Bible College on Saturday, March 23. Set scores were 30-28, 25-21, 25-20. Lancaster Bible is 21-4 on the season and 7-0 in the North Eastern Athletic Conference. Wells is 18-8 overall and 3-3 in the NEAC.

The opening set stretched deep into extra points. Wells rallied from a five-point deficit in the middle of the set to take a 21-17 lead with a 12-3 scoring run. The Express fought off three match points for Lancaster Bible and the Chargers defended one for Wells when the Express led 26-25.

In the second set, LBC raced out to an 8-3 lead and never trailed.

Both teams hit at a high percentage in the third set as Wells had 13 kills and 7 errors for a .214 hitting percentage but Lancaster Bible was even more effective with 14 kills and five errors and hit .310.

Robert Patzer and Caden O'Loughlin each had 10 kills. Josh Undari had 31 assists and six digs. Patzer added eight digs and two block assists. Justin Williams had one solo block and three block assists.

Wells continues conference play with a Sunday, March 24 match at Wilson College.
