Men's Volleyball Reaches 20-Win Mark In Sweep

The Wells College men's volleyball team picked up its 20th win of the season on Thursday, March 28 when the Express defeated Keuka College in three sets. Wells won by set scores of 25-18, 25-15, 25-18 in a North Eastern Athletic Conference meeting at the Schwartz Athletic Center.

Wells is 20-8 overall and 5-3 in the NEAC. It is the second year in a row that Wells has reached the 20-win mark. The Express won 21 matches in 2018, setting program records for total wins and winning percentage. The 2019 Express campaign has five regular-season matches remaining before Wells begins play in the NEAC tournament.

Wells hit .556 in the opening set with 17 kills and two errors, including eight kills in 11 attacks for Caden O'Loughlin in the first set. Joe Zimmerman added five first-set kills. The Express had a .423 hitting percentage in the second set with 13 kills and two errors. Wells finished the match with a .383 hitting percentage on 40 kills against nine errors.

O'Loughlin had 11 kills and a .526 hitting percentage. Zimmerman had 10 kills and a .571 hitting percentage. Josh Undari had 23 assists. Zimmerman led Wells with seven digs, and had a solo block.

Keuka is 12-10 overall and 3-5 in the NEAC. It was the second win of the year for the Express over Keuka. The Express is on the road this weekend for non-conference matches hosted by Elmira College on Saturday, March 30. Wells faces The Sage Colleges at 3 p.m. and Elmira College at 5 p.m.
