Express Men's Volleyball Battles Potsdam at Home

On Friday night the Express hosted SUNY Potsdam for a men's volleyball match, their 11th of the season. 

This was only their second home match of the season and the Express previously defeated Medaille College at home. They looked to maintain their undefeated record in the Schwartz Athletic Center.

In the first set, the Express were a bit sluggish. they only had 8 kills (their lowest set tonight) and allowed the visiting Bears to jump out to a 5-0 lead. The Express battled back but it was not enough and they fell in the first set 25-18.

Clearly, the Express were not happy with their own performance in the first set. they came out ready to battle in the second set and a battle it certainly was. the Express had 13 kills in the second set and thanks to some key assists from Cooper Colesante, the Expres closed out the Bears in the second set, 25-20.

The third set saw a spirited Potsdam team come out and take it to the Express a little bit. They gained a 20-12 lead and never looked back. No matter what they Express tried, they couldn't close the gap and they fell by a score of 25-14 in the third to fall behind to the Bears 2-1.

The fourth set was by far the most exciting of the night. The latest lead either team was able to gain was 2 and that did not last long as both teams went back and forth topping the other team by 1 and then losing the lead. When the score was 23-22 in favor of the Bears, a call did not fall the way of the Express and it boosted the visiting bears to a 24-22 lead, and eventually a 25-22 victory. (3-1)
