Wells College men's volleyball hit the road for a conference match-up with the Medaille College Mavericks on Thursday night.

Heading into the match-up, the Mavericks were 5-12 and 1-5 in the conference. Wells College was coming off a pair of wins over Russell Sage College but was still looking to capture its first AMCC conference win of the season.

In the first set, the two teams appeared to be pretty evenly matched. The many difference was the Express had 5 service errors that gave the Mavericks 5 points. Wells College also had 22 attack attempts with .227%. After Medaille took the first set, they came out hot taking it to the Express in the second set. The mavericks had a .462% on the attack. Wells could not come up with a block or a service ace in the second set at all, helping Medaille secure a 2-0 advantage. Wells College would bring the energy to start the third set. Kills by Connor Garvey, Confidence Burrowes, and Sao Barbu helped the Express build a 12-6 lead. The Mavericks battled back to cut the lead to 1 (15-14) forcing a time-out from Wells. As the set closed in on a finish, a few errors from Wells gave Medaille an advantage and a late kill from Connor Garvey could not save the set. Wells would fall 3-0 at Medaille.

Men's volleyball will head to SUNY Potsdam for a tri-match with Lesley on Sunday.
