Men's Cross Country Places 38th At NCAA Regionals

The Wells College men's cross country team competed in the NCAA Division III Atlantic Region Cross Country Championships on Saturday, Nov. 11 at Houghton, N.Y. Wells placed 38th in a field of 42 teams.

Seven Wells runners competed over the eight-kilometer event at the Field of Dreams Cross Country Course at Houghton College. The athletes raced in frigid temperatures that hovered in the mid-20s most of the morning and early afternoon.

Adam M. Sleezer led the Wells contingent with a time of 28 minutes, 26.9 seconds, which was more than two minutes faster than his time on an 8K course at the NEAC Championships. He finished in 207th place. Tanner Mingen was next for Wells with a time of 29:22.7. Tony D'Arpino clocked 30:35.9 and Eli Stone placed 269th with a time of 31:25.4. The final team-scoring member of the pack for the Express was Austin Heil with a time of 32:36.5.

Bradlee Sherman finished in 33:40.7 and John Tolley ran 36:25.2.

The race included 290 athletes representing 42 institutions.
