Men's Cross Country Begins Season At Le Moyne

The Wells College men's cross country team started its 2018 season at the Le Moyne College Frank Dillon Memorial Invitational on Saturday, Sept. 1 at the Le Moyne College on-campus course, which measured slightly over six kilometers.

The men's race included four full teams and 67 total competitors from seven institutions.

Wells placed fourth in the team standings among the four schools that had complete lineups and seven Express runners overall took part in the event.

The lead pack of four Express runners finished within a span of one minute, 11 seconds. Tony D'Arpino was the first across for Wells in 33rd place overall with a time of 25 minutes, 56 seconds. Ross Cobb was three seconds behind at 25:59 for 35th place. Eli Stone ran in 26:36 and John Tolley finished in 27:07. The final scoring member of the Wells lineup was Mohammed Williams in his varsity debut with a time of 31:15.

Emmanuel Chea (34:12) and Bradlee Sherman (34:38) were the other competitors for the Express.

Wells will run Saturday, Sept. 8 at the Hamilton College Short Course Meet.
