The Wells College softball team earned a split of a North Eastern Athletic Conference doubleheader on Sunday, April 23 against SUNY Cobleskill at the Wells Turf Field. Cobleskill won the first game 4-0, and Wells took the second game by a 5-2 score.
Wells is 6-18 overall and 6-12 in the NEAC. SUNY Cobleskill is 3-21 overall and 2-14 in the conference.
The Express has a non-conference doubleheader at SUNY Canton on Wednesday, April 26 beginning at 3 p.m.

Wells had five hits in the first game of the day. Sammie Jones had a double for the Express.
Jessica Conover pitched effectively. All four Cobleskill runs were unearned. The Fighting Tigers had 10 hits. They scored three times in the fifth and once in the seventh.
Wells 5, SUNY Cobleskill 2
A five-run rally in the fourth inning was all of the offense that Wells needed in the second game. Cobleskill scored a single run in the first and one more in the fifth.
In the Wells rally, Naomi Kubo had a two-run double to bring in Jessica Conover and Sammie Jones. Kubo came in to score on an infield error later in the inning.
Lizzie Monnat had an RBI single and was part of a double steal that allowed Sydney Cullen to score.
Cullen was 4-for-4 on her senior day game. Conover and Jones had two hits each.
Baylee Pearce earned the pitching victory in the circle. She allowed seven hits and two walks with six strikeouts over seven innings.
