COLLEGE OF ST. ELIZABETH EDGES EXPRESS

(Morristown, N.J.)─ Despite a game high 21 points and 18 rebounds from Wells freshmen Ashley Roser (Taberg, N.Y./Camden), the College of St. Elizabeth edged the Express 58-56 in North Eastern Athletic Conference action Saturday afternoon in Morristown, N.J. Kristen Ryan (Syracuse, N.Y./Bishop Ludden) added 20 points, hitting on four of five from behind the arc for the Express. Sabrina Jarmolinski led the Soaring Eagles with 19 points and 11 rebounds. The loss drops the Express to 0-2 (0-1 NEAC) on the season, while St. Elizabeth improves to 1-1 (1-0 NEAC).
 
Jarmolinski was one of three Soaring Eagles in double-figures. Maseon Deeb added 14 points and a team high 13 rebounds, while Anastacia Feola chipped in with 14 points.
 
The Express shot 39.2 percent from the field but committed 36 turnovers. St. Elizabeth shot a lowly 27.4 percent from the field but made up for it from the charity stripe, hitting on 16 of 25 from the line. The Soaring Eagles also held the edge in rebounds 46-42.
 
The Express held a two point lead at the half (27-25) and led by as many as 10 in the second half, but the Soaring Eagles remained aggressive, fighting back to earn the two point NEAC victory.
 
The Express return to action tomorrow against NEAC rival Wilson College at 1 p.m. in Chambersburg, Pa.
