ROSER AND AKI EARN NEAC POST-SEASON HONORS

AURORA, N.Y. – Wells women's basketball player Ashley Roser (Taberg, N.Y.) has been named North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) First Team All-Conference and freshmen Jessilyn Aki (Kappaa, Hawaii) has been named NEAC Rookie of the Year after helping lead the Express to a program best 8-17 (6-11 NEAC) record.

 

After missing five of the first seven games due to injury, Roser rebounded to start 20 games,  finishing the season with a team high 373 points, averaging 18.6 points per game and 14.4. rebounds per game which ranked her second and first in the NEAC while registering 16 double-doubles. Roser also ranked 28th in the nation in points per game, third in rebounds per games, and seventh in double-doubles. This is Roser's second straight fist team selection.

 

Aki earned the conference's inaugural Rookie of the Year award. She appeared in all 25 Express contests this season and ranked fifth in the conference in total assists (83), sixth in steals (59) and 14th in total points (278), while being first in each of those categories among all rookies.  She also helped Wells to eight victories this season, which doubled their win total from last year's inaugural season.
