Roser Named NEAC Student-Athlete of the Week

GANSEVOORT, N.Y. – Junior Ashley Roser (Taberg, N.Y.) of the Wells College women's basketball program was named as one of two North Eastern Athletic Conference Student-Athletes of the Week for her performance this past week, the conference office announced late Monday afternoon.

Against Alfred on Nov. 28, Roser became the first women's basketball player in program history to reach the 1,000 point plateau, doing so just four games into her junior season. Against Alfred, she finished with a season high 29 points via 11 successful field goals. In addition, Roser put up three steals, three blocks and three assists against the Saxons.

In other action, Roser posted 18 points against Utica on Thursday, collecting a season high four takeaways. Most recently, Roser tallied 17 points against SUNY Canton on Sunday, shooting a perfect 7-for-7 from the charity stripe to remain one of only three players in program history to have a perfect game from the free throw line.

Within the NEAC, Roser is tied for the conference lead with 21.3 points per game while also possessing the sole lead of rebounds per game (18). She also has recorded a double-double in all six of her contests this season, including a streak of eight games dating back to last season (2/12/12 vs. SUNYIT).

For her career, Roser ranks first in program history in points (1,048), scoring average (20.5 ppg), field goals made (353), field goals attempted (819), field goal percentage (43.1%), free throws made (329), free throws attempted (442), free throw percentage (74.4%), rebounds (738), rebounding average (14.5 per game), assists (126), blocked shots (143), steals (105) and games started (45).
