Roser Earns NEAC Student-Athlete Of The Week Nod

GANSEVOORT, N.Y. – Junior Ashley Roser (Taberg, N.Y.) of the Wells College women's basketball team was selected as the North Eastern Athletic Conference Women's Basketball Student-Athlete of the Week for her performance this past week for the Express, the conference office announced late Monday afternoon. With a victory on Saturday against the College of Saint Elizabeth, the Express have clinched their first playoff berth in the team's three year history at Wells.

Roser ranked second on the team this past week by averaging 18 points per game, tying for the team lead in field goals (11) and converting 14-of-25 attempts from the free throw line as the Express posted a 2-0 record against Cazenovia College on Wednesday and Saint Elizabeth on Saturday. Her 42 rebounds across two games led the team in that category, as did her 15 blocks. She also turned in five takeaways and secured three assists.

Against Cazenovia on Wednesday, Roser posted only the 12th triple-double across all NCAA Division III women's basketball players by scoring 20 rebounds, 15 total points and 10 blocks. Her 10 blocks set a program record. This season, Roser has tallied a double-double in all but two games on the season.

As of Jan. 30, Roser ranked first in rebounds per game (16.1) and double-doubles (18) amongst all NCAA Division III women's basketball players. Additionally, she ranks 16th nationwide in blocked shots per game (2.75) and 29th in points per game (19.1).

For her career in a Wells College uniform, Roser ranks first in points scored (1,301), points per game (19.1), field goals made (448), field goals attempted (1,037), field goal percentage (43.2%, 448-1,037), free throws made (391), free throws attempted (540), rebounds (952), rebounds per game (14.6), assists (156), blocked shots (182), blocked shots per game (2.8), steals (125), games started (59) and total minutes played (2,209).
