Women's Basketball Returns To Action, Falls At Keuka

The Wells College women's basketball team traveled to Keuka College and fell by a score of 62-33 on Wednesday, Jan. 11. The Express is 3-5 overall and 2-2 in the North Eastern Athletic Conference. Keuka is 4-4 and 2-3 in the conference.

Wells held an 11-6 lead in the first quarter, but the Wolves responded with a 15-1 run and never trailed the rest of the way.

Shelby Medovich scored 15 points for Wells, and Julia Smith scored a career-high nine points. Miranda Mingen had six points and Dallia Rorick had three.

Medovich has scored in double-figures in six of Wells' eight games this season and is averaging 14.9 points per game on the year. She also led Wells with 10 rebounds. Mingen had seven rebounds and Smith had four steals.

Wells returns home for just its second and third home games of the season and first game at the Schwartz Center in two months. The Express hosts NEAC games Saturday and Sunday at 1 p.m. Saturday's opponent is SUNY Cobleskill and Sunday's opponent is SUNY Polytechnic Institute.
