The Wells College women's basketball team wrapped up its 2016-17 season with a 66-36 victory over Penn College on Saturday, Feb. 18 at the Schwartz Athletic Center in Aurora. Wells led 39-22 at halftime and cruised to the win.
Senior guard Ashida Cooper was recognized prior to her final home game.
Kamarie Maturine scored 20 points and added 11 rebounds.
Cooper scored 23 points. She capped a stellar two-year career for the Express as the third player in program history to reach the 1,000 career point milestone. Cooper is averaging 25.5 points per game and ranks atop the statistical leaderboard in NCAA Division III in that category.
Shelby Medovich had four steals and eight points.
Wells finished its season with an 11-12 overall record and 10-8 record in the North Eastern Athletic Conference. Penn College wrapped its campaign with a 3-22 overall record and 3-16 NEAC record.
