Women's Basketball Falls At Utica College

The Wells College women's basketball team outscored Utica College by eight points in the second half but came out on the short side of a 63-49 score at Utica, N.Y. on Saturday, Nov. 18. Wells is 0-2 on the season and Utica College is 2-0.

The host Pioneers got off to a fast start and led 14-7 after the first quarter and 37-15 at halftime.

Wells scored 17 points in each of the third and fourth quarters. Shelby Medovich led Wells with 16 points in the game and scored all of her points after halftime.

Julia Smith scored eight, Yanna Ososkalo had seven, and Carley Ryan and Kamarie Maturine each scored six points.

Medovich had eight rebounds and Maturine had seven.

Wells continues non-conference play in the early part of the season with an 8 p.m. game Monday, Nov. 20 at D'Youville College.
