The Wells College women's basketball team fell behind early and lost 64-41 at Medaille College on Sunday, Nov. 18.
Medaille raced out to a 20-4 lead after the first quarter, before Wells got back into the contest and outscored Medaille over the second and third quarters. Wells totaled 27 points in the second and third and allowed 26. The Mavericks closed the game with an 18-10 margin in the fourth quarter.
Carley Ryan led Wells with 16 points. Miranda Mingen scored nine and Shelby Medovich added eight. Mingen added three rebounds, one blocked shot, and one steal.
Wells was 11-for-13 at the free-throw line, but 2-for-14 from 3-point range. Each team had 38 rebounds, with nine rebounds for Carley Ryan and eight for Shelby Medovich.
Wells returns to the court Tuesday, Nov. 20 at Hartwick College at 5:30 p.m.
