Keuka Claims NEAC Win Over Women's Basketball

The Wells College women's basketball team wrapped up first semester play with a 66-47 home loss against Keuka College on Thursday, Dec. 6 at the Schwartz Athletic Center. Two players scored in double-figures for the Express.

Keuka held a 14-12 lead after the first quarter, but the lead grew to 15 at halftime as Keuka outscored Wells 23-10 in the decisive second quarter.

Wells climbed back into the game in the third quarter. The Express trailed by 18 but went on an 11-1 run that featured four points from Diamonne Harris and Shelby Medovich and three points by Maritza Scharoun.

Keuka pulled away over the remainder of the game and won by 19.

Harris led Wells with 16 points, and Medovich scored 13, with 12 of Medovich's points coming in the second half. Miranda Mingen had 10 rebounds.

Wells will take a break for final exams and the turn of the semester and return to action Jan. 5 and 6 with home games against Oswego and Cortland.
