Women's Basketball Guard Carley Ryan Earns NEAC Award

Wells College women's basketball student-athlete Carley Ryan was named North Eastern Athletic Conference Player of the Week for the week ending Jan. 6, 2019. The senior guard from Middleburgh, N.Y. is majoring in education.

Ryan totaled 34 points and 13 rebounds in a weekend split for the Express. Ryan recorded a double-double with 19 points and 10 rebounds in a 56-47 non-conference win against Oswego State on Saturday. The senior guard added 15 points and three rebounds the next day in a loss against SUNY Cortland. In addition to averaging 17 points and 6.5 rebounds per game, she finished the week with seven assists, seven steals and one block.

This is the first weekly award of the season for Ryan, and the second of her career. Ryan was an all-conference selection following her junior year, as she was voted to the Third Team by NEAC coaches following the 2017-18 season.
