The Wells College women's basketball team picked up its first conference victory of the season with a 56-46 win at Penn College on Saturday, Jan. 12.
Wells trailed by six in the opening quarter and it was 15-14 in favor of Penn College after the first. Wells led 24-22 at halftime. Wells outscored Penn College 32-24 in the second half to secure the victory. The Express took advantage of 20 Penn College turnovers that led to 30 points for Wells.
Carley Ryan had 26 points for the Express and was 8-for-12 at the free-throw line. Shelby Medovich scored 15 points and led Wells with 12 rebounds.
Wells will continue its weekend with a Sunday, Jan. 13 game at Penn State Berks at noon.
