Women’s Basketball Team Concludes 2019-20 Season by Hosting Penn College

The Wells College women's basketball team wrapped up its regular season by hosting Penn College on Saturday, Feb. 22.

The Express kept pace with the Wildcats early with the game tied nearly half way through the first quarter. A 7-0 run by Penn appeared to sway the contest in the visitor's favor and helped them take a 20-11 lead after the first. Wells got within three scores in the second quarter before the Wildcats ultimately pulled away.

Jordan Jacobs topped all Wells scorers with 22, and was just one-point shy of matching her season best. She had a stellar overall game with team highs in assists with seven and blocks with five. Her eight boards were second-best on the day to Maritza Scharoun, who missed a double-double by a single point after gathering 10 boards with nine points.

Jennifer McCumber had a half-dozen points to go with six rebounds, while Sonia Rivera had five boards with three points. Maeghen Westmiller finished with a pair of points and Lorissa Parks finished with a free throw on the day.
