Buffalo, N.Y.– Emily Lotkowictz (Skaneateles, N.Y./Skaneateles) and Sarah Allen (Clay, N.Y./Cicero-North) combined for nine goals as the Wells College Express women's lacrosse team defeated the Medaille College Mavericks 16-12 in North Eastern Athletic Conference action Sunday afternoon in Buffalo, N.Y. With the victory the Express improve to 5-6 (4-0 NEAC), while the Mavericks fall to 1-8 (1-4 NEAC).
The first half was a back and forth battle between both teams as each played to an 8-8 tie at the break. Medaille held the advantage in shots (17-14), ground balls (19-10), and draw controls (11-6) in the first half.
Wells picked things up in the second half netting six straight goals to open up a 14-8 lead. The Mavericks were unable to build a comeback as the Express held on for the four goal victory.
Anna Breard (Biddeford, Maine/Biddeford) added three goals, Madeline Bass (Lemon Grove, Calif./Helix) chipped in with two goals, while Eleanour Eshenour (Waterloo, N.Y./Waterloo) scored two goals to round out the scoring for the Express.
Wells returns to action against Keuka College on Wednesday, April 14th at 4:00 p.m. in Keuka Park, N.Y.
