THREE WOMEN’S LAX PLAYERS EARN FIRST TEAM ALL-CONFERENCE, SEVEN TOTAL PLAYERS HONORED

(Aurora, N.Y.)─ The Wells College women's lacrosse team had seven total players earn North Atlantic Conference All-Conference honors for the 2011 season. Senior goalie Elizabeth Barclay was named Goalkeeper of the Year for the second straight year and earned NAC All-Conference First Team honors, while teammates Sarah Allen and Madeline Bass were also named All-Conference First Team. Courtney Grosser earned All-Conference Second Team honors, and Sherri Stanton, Stephanie Miller, and Adrienne Tomao were all named NAC All-Conference Third Team selections.  
 
NAC Goalkeeper of the Year and First Team All-Conference selection Elizabeth Barclay (Laporte, Pa.) made 139 saves on the season, finishing with a 11.21 goals against average and a .470 save percentage.
 
Sophomore Sarah Allen (Clay, N.Y.) earned her second straight NAC All-Conference First Team selection at the attack position. Allan finished with a team leading 42 points, ranking her eighth in the conference in points and goals (36). Allan tallied at least four points in a game seven times in the season, including a six point performance (5 g, 1 a) in a 15-11 Express victory over Medaille College.
 
Sophomore Madeline Bass (Lemon Grove, Calif.) earned her second straight NAC All-Conference First Team selection at the midfield position. Bass finished third on the team in goals with 27 and finished tied for second on the team in points with 34. Bass scored at least three goals in a game five times during the season, including a five goal performance against Alfred University.
 
Freshmen Courtney Grosser (Penfield, N.Y.) earned the Express lone NAC All-Conference Second Team selection at the midfield position. Grosser finished second on the team in goals (29) and tied with Bass for second on the team in total points with 34. Grosser finished the season with 19 draw controls, 17 groundballs, eight caused turnovers, and twice scored four goals in a game (Bard College, Cazenovia College).
 
Junior Sherri Stanton (Greene, N.Y.) earned her first NAC All-Conference Third Team selection at the attack position. Stanton finished with four goals, one assist, 16 draw controls, and 11 groundballs in her first season for the Express.


Senior Stefanie Miller (Barton, N.Y.) was selected to the NAC All-Conference Third Team at the midfield position. Miller finished fourth on the team in goals with 16 and first on the team in assist with 11, while also leading the team in groundballs (28) and draw controls (24). Miller tallied at least one point in 12 of the Express 15 games this season.


 Senior Adrienne Tomao (Walton, N.Y.) was selected to the NAC All-Conference Third Team at the defense position. Tomao finished with 14 groundballs and eight assists while helping to lead the Express to their third straight conference tournament appearance and a 6-9 (4-3 NACW) overall record.
