WELLS COLLEGE REMAINS UNBEATEN IN CONFERENCE PLAY WITH VICTORY OVER ST. ELIZABETH

(Aurora, N.Y.)─ Ten different players scored as the Wells College women's lacrosse team rolled to a 16-3 victory over the College of St. Elizabeth in North Atlantic Conference West Division action on Saturday afternoon in Aurora, N.Y. Sarah Allen (Clay, N.Y./Cicero-North) led the Express with four goals, while Elizabeth Barclay (Laporte, Pa./Lincoln) picked up the win in net with three saves. With the victory the Express remain unbeaten in conference action (3-0) and improve to 5-4 overall. The loss drops the Screaming Eagles to 1-5 (0-1 NACW).
 
Courtney Grosser (Penfield, N.Y./Webster Schroeder) and Stefanie Miller (Barton, N.Y./Tioga Central) each tallied three points on the day. Grosser finished with two goals and one assist, while Miller added one goal and assisted on two others. Sherri Stanton (Greene, N.Y./Cayuga C.C.) and Ariel Taft (Cazenovia, N.Y./Cazenovia) each added two goals, while Stephanie Motes (Suwanee, Ga./N. Gwinnett), Amanda Catalano (Lockport, N.Y./Royalton Hartland), Stacy Belden (Warrensburg, N.Y./Warrensburg), Madeline Bass (Lemon Grove, Calif./Helix), and Kendra Francis (Hooper, Utah/Fremont) each finished with one goal to round out the scoring for the Express. The 16 goals are the most by the Express on the season.
 
The Express dominated in every major statistical category including shots (29-9), ground balls (13-7), and draw controls (16-2), while finishing a perfect 3 for 3 on the clear.
 
Wells jumped out to a quick 6-0 lead after the first ten minutes and would lead 9-2 at the break. The Express continued to pour it on in the second half, outscoring the Screaming Eagles 7-1 en route to their third conference victory.
 
The Express will look to remain unbeaten in the NACW as they welcome conference opponent Penn. St. Abington to campus tomorrow afternoon. The game is set to begin at 1 p.m. in Aurora, N.Y.
