EXPRESS FALL TO KEUKA IN CONFERENCE TILT

(Aurora, N.Y.)─  The Wells College women's lacrosse team (6-7, 4-3 NACW) fell to the Keuka College Storm 15-7 in a North Atlantic Conference West division matchup on Thursday evening in Aurora, N.Y. The Express opened the scoring quickly on a goal by Courtney Grosser (Penfield, N.Y./Webster Schroeder) but the Storm (9-1, 7-0 NACW) responded with six unanswered goals en route to the victory.
 
Grosser and Madeline Bass (Lemon Grove Calif./Helix) lead the Express with three goals each while Sarah Allen (Clay, N.Y./ Cicero-North) chipped in with one goal. Goalkeeper Elizabeth Barclay (Laporte, Pa./Lincoln Academy) took the loss in net for the Express, recording six saves.
 
Laura Dougherty (Geneva, N.Y./Geneva) highlighted seven Keuka scorers with three goals and two assists while Brandy Shafer (Rochester, N.Y./Eastridge) and Jennifer Bush (Endwell, N.Y./Maine-Endwell) each tallied three goals apiece. Goalkeeper Molly Hogan (Horseheads, N.Y./Horseheads) earned the win in net with six saves.
 
With the loss the Express clinch the fourth seed in the North Atlantic Conference West Division tournament while the Storm clinch the No. 1 overall seed. This is the third straight NACW tournament appearance for the Wells College women's lacrosse team.

The Express will take on Hartwick College this Saturday at 12 p.m. in Aurora, N.Y. in one last non-conference matchup before the NACW tournament. First round games of the NACW tournament are set to begin the following Saturday, April 30 at No. 1 seed Keuka College in Keuka Park, N.Y. Seeding and first round match-ups have to be released by the conference.
