Keuka, NY- The Wells College Women's Lacrosse team suffered a tough loss to Keuka College this evening. Keuka's Taylor Smith scored two goals less than a minute apart as the Storm jumped out to an early 2-0 lead. Keuka's Burt, Bonafede, Hudson and Maguire all followed with goals for a 6-0 lead before the Express got on the board on Sarah Allen's free position shot with 16:24 remaining in the opening half.
After a Wells player suffered a knee injury, the already short-handed Express, which was playing a man-down from the beginning of the contest, played the final 42 minutes two players down. Keuka pushed its lead to 10-1 with four goals over a span of 5:08, but the Express pulled within 10-2 on Marina Fargnoli's goal with 1:35 remaining before halftime.
The Storm finished with 12 man-up goals, as Bonafede, Burt, Hudson and Kostuk each scored twice with the advantage.
Wells College returns to action with a 6 p.m. contest at the University of Scranton on Thursday afternoon.
