Wells Express Fall in Overtime

Wells Express Fall in Overtime

Aurora, NY- On a day in which over forty goals scored, the SUNY Canton Kangaroos pulled out an overtime win against the Express of Wells College, who were understaffed from the beginning, by a score of 23-21 today.  Five different Wells players scored in the effort.

Despite never giving the lead over to the Express, the Roos were the survivors of a gritty contest. Every time the Roos attempted to race out in front, Wells was there with an answer.  The Wells college Express, never gave up and fought until the very end while playing down three players for a majority of the game.

Madeline Bass was among five Express players carrying the scoring load on the day, registering three goals to go along with identical outputs from freshmen Marina Fargnoli and freshmen Savannah Tucker.  Sophomore Courtney Grosser also added two goals for the Express.  Unfortunately for Wells, the Roos would clamp down on defense the rest of the way to hang on for the 23-21 win in overtime.

In a big conference weekend for the Express, the Express will take the field again in less than 24 hours with a home match up against SUNY Morrisville on Saturday and Cazenovia College on Sunday. Game times for both games are set for 1:00 pm.
