Stokes Nets NEAC Third Team All-Conference Recognition

GANSEVOORT, N.Y. – Freshman Shianne Stokes (Mays Landing, N.J.) collected North Eastern Athletic Conference Women's Lacrosse All-Conference honors for her performance for the Wells College women's lacrosse team during the 2014 season, the league office announced on Wednesday. Stokes, who earned Third Team All-NEAC honors, becomes the first Wells freshman since Courtney Grosser '14 in 2011 to earn All-Conference recognition.

Stokes appeared in all 13 games for the Express, ranking third in point scoring after tallying 17 goals and six assists for 23 total points (17-6=23). Additionally, Stokes hauled in 38 ground balls and reeled in 33 draw controls, ranking second on the team in both categories. Defensively, Stokes caused 12 turnovers for Wells and scored her first collegiate game-winning goal against St. Elizabeth on Apr. 19, 2014 in her team's 8-7 victory.
