Women's Lacrosse To Support "Team Molly" This Saturday

AURORA, N.Y. – The Wells College women's lacrosse team will be dedicating their North Eastern Athletic Conference contest this Saturday, Apr. 18 to raising awareness toward the fight against Ewing's sarcoma. The Express will play the Mavericks of Medaille College at 1 p.m. on the South Athletic Field.

Molly Seifritz played women's lacrosse at Buffalo State College, earning All-Conference honors from the SUNYAC before she tragically passing two years ago after a long and hard fight with Ewing's sarcoma cancer. Her passing sparked the creation of "Team Molly", an organization whose goal is to fight cancer with kindness, a positive attitude and a hard work ethic – all traits that Seifritz possessed.

Seifritz expressed strong ambitions toward creating a network of lacrosse communities that could fuse together to create change. She wanted to pull together with as many others as possible to fund rare cancer research. As her desires for this lacrosse network continued, so did her optimistic fight against cancer.

Collectively, the Wells women's lacrosse team purchased shirts that will be worn prior to Saturday's game. The proceeds earned by Team Molly from the purchase of the shirts will directly benefit the fight against Ewing's sarcoma.
