AURORA, N.Y. – The Wells College women's lacrosse team wrapped up their 37th season as a varsity program on Saturday with an 8-5 victory over visiting Bryn Athyn College. With the win, Wells finishes with a 4-9 overall record alongside a mark of 3-6 within the North Eastern Athletic Conference. Bryn Athyn wraps up with a 3-8 record with a similar 3-6 record against league foes.

Senior Marina Fargnoli (Apalachin, N.Y.), the team's lone senior student-athlete, was honored with a pregame ceremony and went on to score her team's fifth goal. She concludes her career in a Wells uniform ranked ninth all-time with 105 career points via 86 goals and 19 assists. Her 170 ground balls and 155 draw controls are the most by any Wells student-athlete in the prior six seasons.

Junior Andrea Gould (Fulton, N.Y.) scored four of her team's eight goals on the afternoon while classmate Lexie Roberson (Winston-Salem, N.C.), sophomore Shianne Stokes (Mays Landing, N.J.) and junior Amber Jordan (Auburn, N.Y.) joined Fargnoli with single goals on the afternoon. Roberson and Stokes also chipped in with assists along with freshman Nadia Bennacer (Marcellus, N.Y.).

Wells captured the lead for good only 2:14 into the contest, scoring a man-down, free position goal off the stick of Gould. Roberson added a goal less than one minute later to catapult Wells into the lead, 2-0. Kaitlyn Brock followed with one of her team-best four goals on the afternoon to cut into the lead, but Gould struck twice more in the next 10 minutes to place Wells ahead 4-1.

The Express closed the first half with a 6-2 lead after Fargnoli and Jordan scored goals in the final 8:44. Through the first 30 minutes of regulation time, Wells reeled in seven of the game's nine draw controls while outshooting their opponent 12-to-5. The Express also converted two of their three free position opportunities.

Bryn Athyn controlled possession for the majority of the second half, but the Wells defense limited the Lions to only three goals. Brock scored the first two goals of the second half, but Gould and Stokes added insurance goals to keep the visitors at arm's length.

Wells backstop Quinn Doubet (Virgil, N.Y.) earned her fourth win of the year, making three saves on eight total shots on net. Anja Weisser allowed eight goals on 15 total shots faced for Bryn Athyn.
