Women's Lacrosse Drops Season Finale at Keuka

KEUKA PARK, N.Y. – The Wells College women's lacrosse team concluded its 37th season as a varsity program on Saturday, dropping a 21-6 contest at Keuka College. Wells finishes with a 4-11 overall mark and a 3-6 record against North Eastern Athletic Conference opponents. Keuka moves to 6-9 on the year and to 4-5 versus league foes. 

Freshman Renee Bartosz (Blasdell, N.Y.) picked up two of her team's six goals while junior Lexi Cohen (Newtown, Pa.), senior Amber Jordan (Auburn, N.Y.), senior Andrea Gould (Fulton, N.Y.) and junior Jessica Burbank (Stamford, Conn.) scored one goal apiece for Wells. Freshman Mackenzie Maloney (Huntington Station, N.Y.) and Cohen had their team's only two assists. 

Keuka opened up an 8-0 lead through the game's first 11:23 before Bartosz snapped the streak by scoring off a Cohen pass with 10:15 to go in the opening half. The Wolfpack would not be slowed by the Wells offense, continuing to build on its lead by growing the spread to 14-3. In total, Keuka outshot Wells by an 18-to-13 margin in the half and won 11 of the stanza's 17 ground balls. 

Wells scored three goals in the second half, but Keuka used seven goals to create a 15-goal advantage as time expired. Samantha Staino and Sydney Forshay scored seven goals apiece, leading the Wolfpack on offense. 

Express goalkeeper Quinn Doubet (Virgil, N.Y.) allowed 21 goals on 29 shots, making eight saves in the loss. Keuka's Alyna Thayer helped her team to the victory, making 13 saves on 19 total shots faced.
