Women's Lacrosse Falls In Season-Opener At Houghton

The Wells College women's lacrosse team made its 2017 season debut on the road and fell by a score of 16-3 at Houghton College on Tuesday, March 7.

The Express scored all three of its goals in the second half. Mackenzie Maloney scored twice, and Julia Smith scored once. All three goals were unassisted, and Maloney's second goal, with 5:32 remaining in the second half, came during a man-down situation.

Anna Bozeat made five saves in goal. Miranda Mingen led Wells with two caused turnovers. Maloney had three draw controls and two ground balls.

Wells returns to action Saturday, March 18 with a home game against Elmira College at 2 p.m.
