Women's Lacrosse Home Opener Goes To Elmira

The Wells College women's lacrosse team played its first home game of the 2017 season and fell by a score of 16-5 against Elmira College in non-conference action. Goalkeeper Anna Bozeat made a season-high and career-best 15 saves in the game.

Wells trailed 6-3 at halftime and Elmira outscored Wells 10-2 in the second half.

First-half goals for Wells were scored by Julia Smith, and two goals by Mackenzie Maloney. Maloney added two more goals in the second half. She has 26 goals on the season to lead the team. Maloney, Renee Bartosz, and Jessica Burbank added assists for Wells.

Bozeat made eight saves in the first half and seven in the second half.

It was the final non-conference game of the regular season for Wells. The final eight games of the year are against North Eastern Athletic Conference opposition, beginning with road games this weekend at Cazenovia College and Morrisville State College.
