Women's Lacrosse Comeback Comes Up Short At Cazenovia

The Wells College women's lacrosse team fell by a 10-6 score at Cazenovia College in a North Eastern Athletic Conference game on Saturday, April 8 at Cazenovia.

Wells rallied from a 5-1 deficit in the first half and came back to tie the score 6-6 in the second half, but the host Wildcats scored the last four goals of the game to earn the victory.

The first goal of the game for Wells was the first career goal for Madison Beriman. Wells trailed 5-1, but got right back into the game with three-straight goals. Mackenzie Maloney scored one and Renee Bartosz scored the next two. Wells trailed 6-4 at halftime.

The Express scored the first two goals of the second half, as Maloney and Jessica Burbank scored to tie the game 6-6. Julia Smith assisted on both goals. Cazenovia closed the game with four in a row.

Wells goalkeeper Anna Bozeat made nine saves. Maloney had seven ground balls and three draw controls. Quinn Doubet led Wells with three caused turnovers.

The Express returns to the field Sunday, April 9 at Morrisville State College at noon.
