Undefeated Keuka Surges Past Wells Women's Lacrosse

The Wells College women's lacrosse team went on the road and took on undefeated Keuka College and came out on the losing side of an 18-9 score at Keuka, N.Y. on Wednesday, April 18.

Keuka scored the first five goals and the last five goals of the first half. Wells scored four in a row in between the five-goal runs, and Keuka held a 10-4 halftime lead.

In the surge for Wells, Julia Smith and Savanah Connors each scored twice. Renee Bartosz and Mackenzie Maloney had first-half assists.

Keuka extended its lead to 17-5 in the second half, but Wells scored four of the last five goals of the game.

Maloney had two goals and four assists for Wells. Connors finished with three goals. Smith scored twice, and Chloe Marcus had one goal. Bartosz had one goal and one assist. Anna Bozeat made 14 saves.

Wells is 4-3 overall and 3-3 in the North Eastern Athletic Conference. Keuka is 10-0 overall and 6-0 in the NEAC. Wells returns home for a 5 p.m. game Saturday, April 21 against Lancaster Bible College.
